After facing Shredder, who has joined forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman and henchmen Bebop and Rocksteady to take over the world, the Turtles must confront an even greater nemesis: the notorious Krang. The Turtles continue to live in the shadows and no one knows they were the ones who took down Shredder. Vernon is the one everyone thinks is the one who took Shredder down. April O'Neill does some snooping and learns a scientist named Baxter Stockman is working for Shredder. He plans to break him out while he's bringing transported. April tells the turtles, who try to stop it but can't. Stockman tries to teleport Shredder but he some how ends up in another dimension and meets a warlord named Krang who instructs Shredder to assemble a teleportation device he sent to Earth a long time ago. He gives Shredder some mutagen which he uses to transform two criminals who were also in the transport with him, Rock Steady and Bebop, into mutants. They then set out to find the device. April saw the transformation while investigating Stockman. She takes the mutagen and is chased by Shredder's minions, the Foot Clan. She is saved by a man named Casey Jones who was the one transporting Shredder. The Turtles show up and they try to work together. In the melee, the mutagen ends up with the police. Knowing Shredder will try and get it back, April tries to get it first and she asks Vern to help. Eventually she and Casey are arrested. The Turtles get the mutagen and Donatello analyzes it, learns it could make them human, which he tells Leonardo who tells him to forget it and not to tell the others. But Michelangelo tells Raphael who feels that Leonardo doesn't respect them. This is my review of TMNT: Out of the Shadows (spoiler free)

* (1 out of 5)

Cast: Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Tyler Perry with Brian Tee and Stephen Amell.

Plot: As Shredder joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman (Perry) and henchmen Bebop(Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (Stephen Farelly) to take over the world, the Turtles must confront an even greater nemesis: the notorious Krang (Brad Garrett).

This follows on from the first TMNT back in 2014 in which producer Michael Bay, decided to put his own twist onto the ever so popular TMNT series.

With the first one that flopped to an extreme amount Paramount decided to make a sequel, which is just equally bad. Unfortunately this is going to flop as well for reasons why I'll get to pretty soon.

The only thing this film has going for it is that it is funny and just completely mental and just like the first one it is visually stunning, but that they the only things that make this film bearable, other than that it is a complete mess that just tries way too hard to be better than it really is. The one other thing is that this has a reference to Hasbro's Transformers but then this film is from producer Michael Bay.

Here some points as to why this film should be avoided:

Performances: The performances in this film are atrocious especially from Megan Fox who may have improved from her time on Transformers, but not much. This film is full of talented actors and actresses but they are in a film like this it makes it feel like they are wasted talent. Brian Tee doesn't even make this film any better as Shredder.

Bad Plot: Even though this is film is the sequel to the first TMNT it doesn't follow the story as well as I'd hoped, It seems to fall apart after the first minute which is just wrong considering the run time. Then again the bar wasn't set very high from plot in the first movie, this is basically a rushed sequel.

The good thing about this film is it's CG and even it is the main focal point it has been rushed and quite frankly it should be the only thing to use.

The main thing is that Paramount made a sequel to film that had already flopped exponentially and made it even worse. This film is action packed but barely even worth your investment this was better as just a one off.

Verdict: Significantly worse than the first, rushed and quite frankly not worth a penny. If you put money in this film I advise you get your money back.

2/10 Terrible About a year ago I saw the first teenage mutant ninja turtles film produced and probably directed by Michael bay and thought it was pretty average. What is frustrating is that I actually think this sequel is worse. The premise of this film sees the turtles try to stop shredder from unleashing the destruction of earth. Now the four turtles Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo are again pretty well represented in this film. They have that fun to them that reminds you that they are only teenagers and that is how they would react. However, I sometimes found them all annoying in the wrong ways, sometimes they just came across as bland or way over the top smart or humorous which took me out of the film. Megan fox is back again as April o Neil and even though she has less to do in this film I still found her annoying. She is just used for sex appeal which the age demographic for this film will not care about and it doesn't work for us older fans either. She has nothing else to her to make her an interesting character. Will arnett is back in this film and I didn't hate him as much in this film because he had less screen time but he just didn't make me laugh once which means his character failed at his job. Shredder is back in this film and he is once again criminally underutilised with him not having one action scene in the whole film. Tyler Perry plays Baxter stockman and possibly gives the worst performance of the year do far in my eyes. He is ridiculously over the top while just being incredibly goofy and stupid. I do think however, that Stephen amell gives a pretty decent performance as Casey Jones and did the best he could with this pretty terrible script. The story in this film has no weight to it at all, the drama between the turtles feels forced and recycled from the previous film. Also the bad guys plans just are so cliché and generic that it makes it a chore to watch. The script is pretty awful, the humour doesn't work in this film as well as the previous and as I said before the drama isn't taken in any new directions to make you care. The style has some pretty decent action scenes especially between the turtles and beebop and rocksteady. But the final showdown lacks excitement and there is just allot of over use of cgi. Overall I don't think this film is worth watching which means this film will probably make allot of money so I have to see a third one in a few years, I cannot wait. Considerably better than its predecessor, the central four may give it their all but the people behind this franchise sadly don’t seem all that interested in their crime-fighting, pizza-eating heroes.
